Because poodles don't shed, they need to be brushed on

a regular basis to prevent their hair from matting.

They should also have their hair cut on a regular basis to maintain a manageable length. It's recommended that they get their hair cut at least every four to six weeks.

The shorter the dogs' hair is trimmed the less brushing and trips to the groomers is required.

Poodles are known as one of the most intelligent dog breeds. They're easy to train, correct unwanted behavior, and have strong communication skills with their owner.

Poodles are one of the safest breeds for people who are allergic to dogs. Allergies to dogs are typically caused by the dander from shedding. Poodles have a low shed rate as their hair continues to grow over time, making them a low

dander dog breed.

Poodles are easy going dogs making them great with children and other pets. Poodles love to be around their people making them known as one of the "velcro" dogs.

Originally bred to be hunting dogs, poodles are known for being very athletic. They love regular frequent exercise,

such as taking walks and fetching. Poodles also thrive with lots of mental stimulation. Our poodles love to do tricks, play hide and seek, play with puzzle toys, and go on their sniff walks in the woods.

Do We Health Test our Dogs
A question to ask all breeders is, do you health test your dogs? And an even more important question is, what are the results of those tests? It's critical to understand that just because a dog is "health tested" does not mean those results are good. At Pure Parti Poodles our dogs are health tested, and the results are CLEAR of genetic diseases and are NOT carriers.
What if I Live out of State?
If you are unable to pick  up your puppy in person, we do allow our dogs to travel to you via a puppy nanny. There are options for on ground transport, or by airplane. If you choose this option we will deliver the
puppy to the nanny at the (SEA) Airport. If you would like to use a puppy nanny that must be arranged
by the adopter.
Protecting our Puppies
In the event that someone is no longer able to care for their dog at any point in the pets' life,
they are required by contract to bring it back to Pure Parti Poodles. Keeping our dogs out of shelters or unfavorable conditions is a top priority. For further details please see our adoption/waitlist form.
Colors
Parti Poodle
In simple terms, its a spotted poodle! In less simple but still straight forward terms, a poodle can have two, one, or zero copies of the parti gene. If they have two parti genes they will be 50% white, with the other 50% being spots of any of the poodle colors i.e. black, brown, etc. This is a Parti Poodle.

Phantom Poodle
Like Partis, Phantom Poodles have two colors. The difference is, while Partis have spots in any place in any size, Phantom Poodles have specific markings in specific places on their coat. The markings will be above the eyes, on the sides of the cheeks, across the chest, under the tail, and on the legs.
There are many color combinations that can be on the base coat and on the markings.

Abstract Poodle
If a poodle has one parti gene, they will commonly either have one white spot on their chest, a head blaze,
another small marking, or the parti will not show at all. When it shows it is an Abstract Poodle.

Tri-Colored Phantom Poodle
A Tri-Colored Phantom is a Phantom Poodle with one copy of the parti gene often resulting in a white spot on their chest in addition to phantom markings. This results in the poodle having a three color coat.
They will often be born with their white spot/spots and the Phantom markings develop in the first few weeks.

Tri-Colored Phantom Parti Poodle
Okay, are you ready for things to get a little crazy? A Tri-Colored Phantom Parti poodle is a poodle
with two parti genes AND two phantom genes. This can come out in a number of ways

but it will often have spots on its body and phantom markings on its face.
